  1. “Unfortunately, the salesperson is typically not the individual you end up partnering up with once you’ve signed a contract. ” So true! Well, to an extent. I guess it depends on the size of the company. For example, I work for a small company that offers student and training management software, and theoretically our sales team is supposed to hand over clients to our client support team for implementation and training after the agreement’s been signed. But since we’re a very small business, we’re more like family, so everyone chips in when necessary. We all keep in touch pretty regularly with our clients, even the sales team!

    Our sales guys also try to be very objective when assessing the needs of potential clients, but I’m sure the temptation to promote these “workarounds” gets very strong at times. I’ll share this post with them; I’m sure they’ll find it informative, as well. 😉
